No longer can I hold it in
The more I conceal it
The more my heart weakens
I feel like the end is near
My dying breath is almost here
I feel as if my heart was being beaten
My breathing is laden with weariness.
Every time a wrong is opened
And the world knows
I will feel the very sin that scourged You
The very devil that tempted You
The very guilt that burden You
The very evil that crucified You
This pain is unbearable
Yet You bore threw it for all of us.
After my sin is made known
I shut myself in exile
Not wishing to be seen out of shame
Though I know that I am loved
I fear the resentment and blame
But most of all I fear I have lost Thee
I know I am forgiven if I ask,
Oh most merciful dove, who flies from above.
I do not feel worthy to ask
Forgiveness from You
Who has shown so much mercy
That I’ve repaid in sin
Oh blessed Savior who has never wronged me
How can I ask for forgiveness?
When I’ve asked thousands of times already
And have still not turned from evil
I can now ask thee for forgiveness
Because I know that You will forgive me
Who has caused so much wrong
Because you are an ever forgiving God
Who forgives even those who have fallen into deep sin and then repented
For You are our Savior that died for our sins.
